ed out almost 88,000 planes in
the first eight months ot the
year,
August production was listed
at 7,800 planes, bringing within
easy reach the goal ot 100,000,
Wilson, who resigned his
WPB post after a feud with
Donald M, Nelson, met with re
porters last yesterday to give
his last report on the state of
the aircraft production pro
gram. It was to straighten out
bottlenecks tn that program
that President Roosevelt called
him to Washington two years
ago.
Asked if WPB feuds had hurt
war production, Wilson said
that he hoped that it was "not
too seriously affected by them,
