For Hospitality
Given WPRC Men
Capt. Aldus E. Grldley, chief
of the special services branch of
the Western Personnel Reassign
ment center, has written to the
MarKade praising the center
staff and volunteers for the pro
gram carried on in the Interest
of the men of the WPRC and
thanking them for the hospital
ity shown the men. The letter
was sent to Mrs Ruth Boyd, di
rector of the MarKade, who ar
ranged dances, Sunday night
suppers and a variety of other
entertainment for the men who
spend their leisure time nt the
center.
Capt. Grldley wrote, In part:
"I want you to know thnt you
have been of material assistance
In our morale program. The
many excellent facilities of the
MarKade have proven invalu
able. The passing of leisure time
is always a problem but the ac
tivities carried on by the Mar
Kade have made leisure a pleas
ure in Medford. The charm and
hospitality which has been so
graciously bestowed upon our
men has made a lasting impres
sion in their hearts. We are very
grateful."
The MarKade atnounced Its
closing last week but was re
opened shortly afterward upon
the recommendation of various
army heads who stated they be
lieved a need still existed for
the facility.
