ters, the Holland Hotel banquet
room, for the first time this
noon. Program for the meeting
was a showing of the Bell Air
craft corporation's picture,
"Cannon on Wings," a cinema
portrayal of the construction
and assembly of the Bell Air
cobra fighter planes.
Larry Neeley, the president,
presided over the meeting and
John W. Taylor, new owner of
Jarmln'g Drug store, was a
guest.

Divorce Trouble
Portland, Ore., Aug 17 (U.R)
George Ray Tweed, 42-year-old
navy chief radioman whose 31
month hideout on Guam has
plagued him with publicity, to
day flatly refused to discuss his
family affairs, particularly the
divorce decree awarded him In
Son Diego.
The modest navy man has
consistently declined to talk
about his family affairs, nor
would he comment on published
stories of his wife's reactions at
his return. Ever since his Guam
story was announced last week
end, Tweed has been besieged
by reporters, book publishers,
persons with contracts and oth
ers wishing to sell him almost
everything.

A group of Medford hardware
and furniture dealers attended
a meeting at the local war price
and ration board last night at
which Ralph Westering, OPA
price specialist from the Port
land district headquarters,
spoke. Mr. Westering explained
OPA pricing methods for hard
ware and furniture and answer
ed many questions from the
dealers.
Fourteen dealers attended the
meeting.
The federal government sent
out more than three hundred
million checks in the year end
ing June 30, 1944.
