He's shooting flames at a Jap position on a jungle-infested, Jap-held island some
where in the South Pacific. With Rome behind him, he's pushing the Germans still
farther north in Italy. He was one of the first to cross the English Channel and
storm ashore in France just a few days ago.
Back of him was all the equipment and supplies he needed. That was our contri
bution. We at home built the equipment with our muscle and paid for it with our
money. The job of ihe man in uniform isn't by any means finished, c.id neither is
our job here at home finished. We still have to keep our men amply supplied and
right now we have to buy many extra War Bonds to help pay the bill. War isn't
cheap . . . but neither is a soldier's life.
