to cook their own eggs, they in
sist that the eggs be fried, sun
ny side up and never scrambled.
Stuart McCutcheon, supervisor,
explained that the boys have
had powdered eggs so often, as
a part of their rations, that
when they have a real egg they
want It to look like a real egg.
"I think," he said, "this is a
custom which will remain after
the war, the same as the thrfce-on-a-match
'superstition hung
over from the last war. They
seem to feel that scrambled
eggs are unlucky."
A new glass has been devel
oped that is as light as cork and
will float In water. Called foam
glass, it is nine parts air and one
part glass and is used as insula
