Weather reports indicate that
Medford will not celebrate a
White Christmas" this year, but
will carry on with, cloudy and
possible rainy weather and mod
erately cold temperature. Flans
for various church services and
organization or public gather
lngs have been, announced, and
many parties already held, and
the populance la preparing to ob
serve a generally quiet Christ
mas day In much the usual man
ner. Most business houses will
be closed and no paper will be
published over the weekend, al
lowing employes to enjoy the
doublb holiday. The annual free
movie sponsored each year by
the George A. Hunt Theatres.
Inc., and the Mail Tribune for
Jackson county children was
held thla morning. Local stu
dents attending universities and
colleges are arriving in the city
each day for tha holidays.
Many local families will cele
brate ' Christmas with one or
more members absent, serving
in the armed forces and unable
to come home. Others are more
fortunate In having servicemen
on furlough and at home tor the
occasion. Some of the local men
hero now are Pfe. Marc Jarmln,
Jr., Cpl. Louis Thurman, and
Pvt. Wilson Church, all with the
army ski troops at Camp Hale,
Colo. Pvt. Church Is an instruc
tor.
