about returning servicemen.
700,000 of them already have
been released and are returning
to civilian life, many of them
with the aid of their stats gov
ernments. Many states are gearing them
selves rapidly for the task of re
habilitation, a survey showed to
day, but others have done noth
ing to solve the veteran prob
lem and in general only a sart
has been msde.

Returning soldiers, sailors and
marines have been Bided In

ment authorities and the Amer
ican Legion. Others are receiv
ing .medical attention prepara
tory to their return to civilian
life.
One organization which aids
discharged servicemen Is the Dis
abled Persona Association of
America, a non-profit selective
placement bureau with head
quarters In Chicago.
H. C. Church, president, said
the organization Is composed of
disabled persons "who remained
at home during the war and are
in position to help the veterans."
The department of veterans'
affairs, established by the Min
nesota legislature this year, set
aside $2,500,000 for veterans'
