All perrons planning to pur

army salvage officers as no long
er suitable for military use were
advised today by the Office of
Defense Transportation to con
sult their ODT motor transport
district office before bidding on
such equipment.
Several cases have occurred,
the ODT said, where persons
have purchased trucks and then,
found the proposed services
were ot a nature that would not
qualify them for allotments ot
motor fue' and mileage.
The ODT warning on pur
chases ot army trucks aoulies
also to would-be purchasers ot
used trucks 01 any kind. Such a
purchase unould not be made un
til the prospective buyer makes
certain that a certificate of war
necessity, required for operating '
any kind of commercial motor
vehicle, will be Issued by the
ODT for tha type of service in
which the truck is to be used.
