A program that promises to
serve as the nucleus of the 1944
republican platform was being
a raited here today for adontion
by the 11 western state "Save
America" conference.
Although committee mem
bers refused to discuss the pro
gram puDiiciy, it was assumed
that a plan submitted by a dele
gate from Washington would be
the basis for the final draft
However, inasmuch as the
plan was submitted by an ad
mitted Willkie booster, it was
believed considerable opposition
would be encountered from
other committee members. Such
opposition would be based on
the theory that if the plan were
adopted, it would be viewed by
many party members as a move
to support Willkie for presi
