Harold Sander, son of Mr. and
Mrs. F. C. Sander of Route 2
has recently been promoted to
first lieutenant In the army air
corps transport command. The
Sanders received a copy of the
Los Angeles Examiner for De
cember 11 which contained a
full page picture spread of sev
eral members of Lt. Sanders
outfit, stationed at Long Beach,
Cal.
Lt Sander, who during his
six-month's stay at Long Beach
has flown about 40 planes across
the continent, graduated from
Medford high school. He learned
to fly in Medford and for a time
was manager and flying instruc
tor of the Eugene airport.
Another son, Aubrey Sander,
teaching flying at Arcadia
Field, Fla., under army super
vision.
