trees and holly. There will be
Jingle bells, silver-tipped firs,
gaily hung holly, and probably
a hurried visit from St. Nicholas,
to remind dancing couples it Is
once again the time of Christ
mas. All girls In Medford are cor
dially invited and are asked to
call the Outpost any time before
3 p. m. Thursday for transporta
tion reservations. A bus, will
leave the outpost at 7:30 p. m.
and a later bus is scheduled to
depart from the chamber of
commerce at 8:30 p. m. Those
planning to attend are asked to
indicate which bus they will
take to Camp White.

Mayor of Leeds 15 minutes. He
collapsed and died yesterday be
fore he had completed his inau
gural speech.
TO TEST MILK LAW
Washington, Dec. 16 (U.R)
The supreme court is expected
to hear argument today in a suit
attacking constitutionality of the
San Francisco milk ordinance.
The suit was brought by the
Natural Milk Producers associa
tion, a cooperative association
of raw milk producers.

Through the kindness of Le
land Mentzer. head of the shop
department of the local high
school, the Medford Nursery
School Is today rejoicing in the
acquisition of a fine set of six
teen sturdy screens. Serving
multitude o f purposes, the
screens add greatly to the va
riety and fun of the nursery
school child's day.
Learning of the need of the
Nursery School for such an ar
ticle, Mr. Mentzer and his shop
students adopted the "screen
making" as a project one which
is now finished, delivered and
in use. Not yet weary of well
doing, the same group has now
begun work on sets of shelves
to be used for toys and for supplies..
The staff and council of the
Medford Nursery School are
deeply appreciative of the kind
ness of Mr. Mentzer and his
group of boys. .

ian use were ordered today by
the War Production Board.

HOBBS SENTENCED
ON MORALS COUNT
' Frank Hobbs, 66, a carpenter,
entered a plea of guilty to con
tributing to the delinquency of
a minor girl, and was sentenced
to serve an indeterminate sen
tence not to exceed two years
in state prison by Circuit Judge
H. K. Hanna yesterday.
Hobbs was arrested Monday
night and made a signed state
ment, according to the author
ities. The girl in the case was
paroled recently from a state in
stitution.

The Table Rock road between
the Camp White entrance and
this city is not standing up well
under the heavy traffic. County
Engineer Paul B. Rynning re
ported today. The remainder of
the road to Bybee, built this
year, is also showing the strain
of travel. The county engineer
said the government would be
asked to allocate funds for heavy
oiling of the road next year. No
heavy oil was applied this year,
due to shortage. The road was
not completely finished last fall.
Roads in general throughout
the county suffered from the
November rains, and mainten
ance crews and graders are now
repairing them. The county en
gineer said a few days of sun
shine were needed to aid the
workers, and put the roads in
good shape for winter use.
