The Agricultural Insurance
company of Watertown, K. Y.,
and the Glen Falls Insurance
company of Glen Falls. N. Y.,
filed suit in circuit court yester
day against Everett Faber, do
ing business as Faber's Farmer
Supply company, for collection
of amounts paid to holders of
accident insurance policies, in
the total sum of S703.17.
The suit is based on a three
way auto accident on the Pa
cific highway between this city
and Phoenix on May 26, 1941.
The complaint alleges loaded
truck belonging to Faber crashed
Into one car, resulting in three
cart being damaged. The car
procession had stopped to per
mit a truck to turn into the
Bear Creek Orchards plant.
The complaint alleges negli
gence on the part of the Faber
i truck operator, in not having
his truck under control, and
travelling too fast.
The Agricultural Insurance
company seeks $155.55 for dam
ages to the Paul Beare car and
f 137.82 for damages to the John
Doe Parker car of Yreka, Calif.
The Glen Falls Insurance
company seeks $410 for damages
to the auto of Melvin McClure.
The two companies issued
accident insurance policies to
the car owners.

Pear growers are now picking
Bosc and Cornice pears and also
rushing the work as fast as the
labor shortage and other condi
tions will permit. Most of the
plants are working 10 to 12
hours daily and Sundays in an
effort to get the pears in stor
age or packed.
JAP GENERALS KILLED
Chungking, Oct. 1. (U.R) A
military spokesman said today
that eight Japanese lieutenant
generals and one admiral have
been killed on the China front
during the past five years. The
latest general officer to die, the
spokesman said, was Lieut Gen.
Takashi Sakai, 54, killed in
fighting near Lanki in Cheklang
province.

today enroute to Smith college

four months' officers' training
in the Woman's Naval reserve
corps after which she will be
commissioned as an ensign. She
received orders Tuesday to
leave Portland Friday for the
east.
Miss Moshberger for the past
five years has been physical
education Instructor at senior
high school.
She is the daughter of the
late Col. Eugene Moshberger
U. S. army and has two brothers
