Henry J, Kaiser, west coast
shipbuilder, said today in an in
terview he was going ahead with
his plan to build hundreds of
70-ton cargo planes and would
do it In such a way as not to
rob the regular aircraft Indus
try of skilled men.
To secure the necessary raw
materials, he proposed the gov
ernment, the aviation Industry
and his organization jointly
launch "ah Intensive drive for
proper allocation of the present
materials we have.
He also declared, "we must
make an Intensive drive on
scrap materials." Citing nickel
specifically in this connection.
Kaiser said he had "the best
minds In the country" at work
on that problem.
