debut today at the Cool Cca
terian Theatre when "In This
Our Life", opens a three day run.
Tha film features a brilliant cast
with Bette Davis, Olivia de Hav
illand, George Brent and Oannis
Morgan in the four starring
roles, while Charles Coburn,
Frank Craven and Billie Burke
make up the talented supporting
cast.
The film is set In the South
where a once proud family, the,
Tlmberlakes, have lost much of
their prestige, due to financial
manipulations of one member
of the family. Bette plays the
role of Stanley, a capricious, in
Considerate girl who believes her
"wn happiness is the only thing
that counts. Regardless of whom
it may hurt, she Is determined
to do just as she pleases. But she
never gains that happiness. Her
own striving for the unattainable
brings uphappiness to her
and to evfryone with whom she
comes in contact.
Her sister, Hey, played by
Olivia de Havilland, is the one
to be most affected by Stanley,
who is engaged to Craig Flem
ing, a bright young lawyer, play
ed "by George Btent, plans to for
get about him and run off with
her sister's husband, Peter, a
surgeon, portrayed by Dennis
Morgan. Alter a very short tine,
Peter realizes his mistake in di
vorcing his wife and marrying
Stanley, He becomes so miser
able that he s forced to commit
suicide.
In the meantime Roy and
Craig, brought closer by their
mutual unhappiness, fall in love.
Stanley, after a very brief per
iod of grief, returns home and
Hoses no time in plunging the en
tire household Into a state of
anxiety by her newest Inpaijsid-
erate acts.
