government cut down
again today on the amount ot
chocolate available to satisfy
America's wax time sweet
tooth.
Attempting to spread out
dwindling supplies of cocoa
beans and make current supplies
last until mid-1943, the war pro
duction board ordered the quota
of beans which may be process
ed each quarter cut to 60 per
cent of last year's figure. Pre
viously, the quota was 70 per
cent.
Cocoa beans, sole source .of
chocolate, are Imported chiefly
from West Africa and South
America and supplies have been
Jeopardized by submarine war
fare.
