Hay Hands Needed
On Valley Ranches
Cutting of the first crop of
alfalfa and hay Is now under
way throughout the valley, but
is hampered somewhat by lack
of hay hands. County Agent
Robert G. Fowler reports.
Orchards and farm crops are
now coming along in good shape,
though warmer weather would
be helpful. Cherries have
started to redden but will not
be ready to pick much before
July 1.

Church of Nazarene
Bible School Opens
Monday at 9 o'Clock
The Church of the Nazarene
Vacation Bible school will open
at 9 a. m. Monday and for daily
sessions from 9 to 12 except
Saturday and Sunday. The
school will continue for two
weeks.
Miss Hazel Newton of Marsh
field, Oregon, who will be sup
erintendent, is an expert, having
conducted a series of vacation
schools throughout the north
west. She will be assisted by
efficient local talent.
Latest Vacation Bible school
methods will be employed
story-telling, work-books depict
ing Bible instruction, Bible
memory drill and living charac
terization. The school is free to
all boys and girls from three to
15 years of age. If transporta

Another interesting feature of
the school is the handcraft work
through cooperation of the city
schools at the Lincoln school.
This phase, conducted by Mrs.
Harriett Loomls, includes bas
ketry, wood-work, clay model
ing, airplane building and other
handcraft work.
