New Formula Bases Selling

Washington, June 11.'
Price ceilings on women's fall
and winter coats and dresses
were revised from the top to
bottom today.
The order issued last month
prohibited any price above the
highest prevailing last fall, and
provided that the garments must
be of "substantially equal work'
manship and qualitv.:'
- The revised price formula. In
general, bases the selling price
on current costs pius me mark
up or margin charged last fall
on garments of the same class.

The Sound Construction com
pany of Seattle, Wash., has been
awarded the contract of undis
closed amount for construction
of a lighter-than-air base at Til
lamook, Ore, the navy depart
ment announced last night.
Work on the Tillamook proj
ect, sixth largest base to be used
by the navy, is scheduled to
start soon. Further details were
not revealed.

tional school.
A wage of 130 a month Is

ed for dormitory living quarters,
meals, recreation, and emergency
hospital care. Mousing is provid
ed in newly completed dormitor
ies under the guidance of a house
mother and the resident center
superintendents. Young men and
women that are training, now eat
in a new modern dining hall.

nesday by Marshall Dana, of the
Oregon Journal.
Dana presented a check from
the Portland club covering cost
of 32 summer school scholar
ships awarded to boys and girls
attending this year's session.
The 1900 youngsters ended
this 28th annual session today
and will leave for home tonight
and Friday.

Floyd M. Zimmerman, 29, was
sentenced yesterday by Circuit
Judge Herbert K. Hanna to
serve not less than five years in
state prison, on a plea of guilty
to forgery.
Zimmerman, a stove repairer,
who operated under the name of
C. R. Coleman, was a member
of the California state guard.
and wore the uniform of that
organization when arrested,
authorities stated.
Zimmerman was specifically
charged with uttering and cash
ing forged school district war
rants. According to the district
attorney, he would do stove re
pairing for a school district and
by subterfuge, procure blank
warrants. These he would fill
out for various amounts, signing
the names of the district clerk
and chairman. He procured
about $83 in this county on war
rants procured from the Browns
boro. Eagle Point, and Ashland
districts.
He is wanted at Lebanon,
Ore., and in eastern Oregon on
the same charge. According to
the district attorney, Zimmer
man has a prison record in
California and Washington.
Portland Apartment

land housing authority said to
day. A 83-acre site in North Port
land was selectee yesterday.
Harry D. Freeman, authority
director, said that because of
lack of school facilities, the
apartments, of one and two
rooms, probably would be re
stricted to married couples with
out children.

commander of Medford Post of
the American Legion last night

sen, adjutant. All will serve one
