Harris Ellsworth, chairman of
the industries committee of the
Roseburg chamber of commerce
was advised today that the
plight of logging truck opera
tors in Oregon had been placed
directly before Price Adminis
trator Leon Henderson. Re
sponding to a telegram dispatch
ed by Ellsworth last night to
Senators McNary and Holman
outlining the critical need for
logging truck tires, Senator Mc
Nary reported he had personal
ly discussed the subject with
Henderson and the committee
The message to the Oregon
Lf senators pointed out that 90 per
cent of all sawmill production
In the state now is on war or

production will be halted within
three months unless tires for
trucks are provided.

monthly but that the quote has
been only from 55 to 60.

creamy. Add yolks and beat well

50 minutes in pan of hot water In

Lela Rogers To Have Part
In Picture With Daughter
Thtf time It'i going to be "like daughter like mother"
for Mrs. Lela Rogers Is leaving Rogers Rogue River ranch
Saturday for Hollywood where she will embark on a Holly
wood career. She Is to appear in Paramount's "The Major
and the Minor" In which she will play the part of Ginger
Roger's mother a part that should be easy for Mrs. Rogers.
She expects to be gone about 10 days.
Mrs. Rogers admitted yester
day that the Rogers ranch and
dairy held more fascination for
her than being a motion picture
actress. This will be her first
motion picture appearance for
quite some time, she said, her
motion picture activity having
been limited ' more In the past
to drama coaching and writing.
She is a former drama editor
of the Fort Worth "Record" and
now Is managing her daughter's
ranch here.

ronto hospital for sick children
today for what was described as
"a perfectly routine checkup"
to supplement a previous exam
ination for suspected musculai
atrophy in one leg.
The original examination wa;
made on January 23 and an
announcement at that time said
physicians found "no serious
lesion."
