ON WIFE'S PLAINT
Robert Wolfe, a cantonment
worker, charged with assault
and battery, was fined $25 and
costs, In Justice court today. The
complaint was filed by his wire,
who charged the defendant tore
up her clothes, broke down the
door of their apartment and
beat her during a ruckus last
Friday night. From the testi
mony of both, there had been
previous domestic storms in
Kansas City, Pierce county,
Washington, and Corvallis.
Wolfe was arrested by Sher
iff Syd I. Brown Saturday morn
. ing, as Wolfe was on the way to
the courthouse, he claimed, to
submit to arrest He told the
sheriff "it was necessary to tone
down my wife," the officer testi
fied. Wolfe told the court he In
tended to separate from his
wife, "even if I have to quit my
Job.' He agreed with the court
and the district attorney they
could not get along. From ques
tions asked by the court it was
brought out the couple between
them earned $19 20 per day, and
