Tea, Style Show
To Honor Mothers
At High School
As climax to a week of acti
vities, the Girls' league of Med
ford high school will present its
annual spring tea and style show
tomorrow in the auditorium.
The military theme of the week
is being carried out with moth
ers being invited to a "day at
the White House."
All mothers and daughters will
meet at 2:30 p. m. in the audi
torium where they will be wel
comed by Girls' league president,
Jeanne Smith, after which the
following yearly awards wili be
announced: P. E. O, D. A. R. and
the Girls' league merit awards.
A group of selections by the
Capella choir will follow and
then the student style show will
be presented.
In the style show, girls will
model their own new spring
suits, formals, dresses, sports
wear and summer play clothes.
Afterwards the mothers with
their daughters will retire to
the lounge in the girls' gym
nasium where refreshments are
to be served.

Right the Wrong" under the
general theme "Christians and
World Order" at the Adult Mis
sionary society of the First
Christian church Wednesday
afternoon at the church. Fifty-
seven friends and members attended.
Mrs. Julia Gregory presided
during the business session and
the nominating committee was
appointed with Mrs. Ethel Trox
ell as chairman, Mrs. Susan Eads
and Mrs. Rene Sater, committee
members. Mrs. C. E. Hutchins
led devotions stressing "Chris
tians of the World Unite in
Quest of World Justice." Mrs. R.
W. Coleman gave a review of
the book, "Men Are Brothers"
by Eva Taylor. Miss Marguerite
Luman sang two solos.
The climax of the meeting
was a pre-Easter sacrificial de
votional service, "I Want To
Know Him" presented by Mrs.
Mabel Sims with vocal selec
tions by Mrs. Yvonne Haggard
and Mrs. Oletha Olson. The of
fering was placed on the altar
at the foot of a large white cross
banked with palms and lighted
candles.
Mrs. Mae Hon and group served
refreshments which carried out
an Easter motif.

Spring flowers formed the
setting for the annual Easter
Monday luncheon at St. Mary's
gymnasium Monday afternoon
by members of St. Mary's Altar
society. Luncheon was served

bridge.

with prizes being awarded to

the First Presbyterian church
were entertained Monday eve
ning at the home of Mrs. Frank
Hussong on Barneburg road.
The affair was in honor of Mrs.
Maynard Putney, who is leaving
for Grants Pass and Mrs. Sher
man L. Divine, another guild
member who is leaving this city.
Officers elected during the
evening included Mrs. Byron
Murdock, president; Mrs. Iva
Murray, vice president; Miss
Emma Jean Brewer, secretary,

Teachers' Council
Luncheon Postponed
An announcement was made
today that the Teachers' council
luncheon has been postponed
from April 11 until May 2 at
Eagles hall, 42 North Front
street at t p. m. Due to this
change the upper grade council
will meet May 2 at 11 a. m. at
the court house. The primary
grades council will meet at the
court house May 2 at 11 o'clock
with Miss Jenette Smith as guest
speaker.
