Auxiliary Holds
Birthday Banquet
Over 100 membere of the
American Legion Post No. 15.
auxiliary and junior auxiliary,
enjoyed the annual birthday
banquet given by the auxiliary
to members of the post Wed
nesday evening in commemor
ation of the 21st anniversasy
of the organization.
It was announced that the
district conference will be held
here April 6 with representa
tives attending from Roseburg.
Grants Pass, Kerby and Ash
land. Representatives from aux
iliary in the district will confer
with state officers headed by
Mrs. Polly Mclnturff of Marsh
field. Local auxiliary members
are asked to be present with
further arrangements to be an
nounced later,
Ray Wright, post commander,
was presented a large birthday
cake, decorated with the Legion
emblem, by Mrs. G. A, Codding,
president of the auxiliary. Fol
lowing the banquet Jack Car
penter, navy recruiting officer,
showed several reels of motion
pictures of the U. S. navy.

Mrs. F. G. Bunch were In
charge of the dinner and dec
orations with members of the
junior auxiliary assisting with

Wed at Parsonage
A very simple but Impressive
wedding ceremony united to
marriage Miss Mary Olson and
Mr. Stanford Pearson at the
home of Rev, and Mrs. Fred M.
Weatherf ord, on Thursday.
March 28, Rev. Weatherford of
ficiating. Miss Martha Geahart
and Mr. Onnis Grieve, both stu
dents at the Southern Oregon
College of Education, attended
the bride and groom. The bride
and Miss Gearhart wore cor
sages of sweet peas.
Both the bride and groom are
prominent young people of
Jackson county but are more In
timately known to Prospect,
where they reside. Miss Olson j
attended the Medford high
school for some time but it a
graduate of the Prospect high
schol. Mr. Pearson is also a
graduate of Prospect high
school and spent two years at
Whitman college, of Walla
Walla, Wash. He also attended
the University of Oregon. After
a brief honeymoon the young
couple will be at home In Pros
pect. .
Junior Guild
Plans Style Show
Junior Guild members gath
ered at the St. Mark's parish hall
on North Oakdale avenue Wed
nesday evening to preparation
for the annual style show to be
presented by the guild April 20.
The evening was spent arrang
ing the script and outlining
models and costumes to be used
in the show,
Mrs. Roland Halper is general
chairman for the event assisted
by guild members. The date had
been set for April 13 but was
advanced one week. The show
promises to be particularly en
tertaining this year, those in
charge announce.
Luncheon Held

Mrs. Etta Hyde entertained a
group of friends at her home
on Hawthorne avenue Wednes
day afternoon with dessert
luncheon. Red Cross sewing and
knitting comprised the after
noon's entertainment. Mrs
Mabel Gtigsby will entertain
the group at her home next
week.

At Methodist Church
Mrs. Harry Myers presided at
the homecoming of Women's
Society of Christian Service at
the First Methodist church Tues
day afternoon. Discussion on
the annual spring bazaar to be
held April 10 was Included in
the business session. Devotions
were led by Mrs. Ralph Wood'
ford and later a social hour In
charge of Just Folks circle was
enjoyed.
Brother Hen
From Colorado
R. M. Hammond of Durango,
Colo., is visiting at the home of
his brother-in-law and sister, Mr.
and Mrs. Carl Ludwig, 511 Aus
tin street. Mr. Hammond ar
rived Tuesday for an extended
visit. This is his first visit to
Medford and the first time he
and his sister have been together
in 18 years.

Observes Annual
Birthday Party
The fifth annual members'
birthday party was observed
Tuesday evening at Central
Point by Nevita chapter, No. 93,
O.E.S, The birthday party was
originated in 1938 by Mrs. Ed
Vincent, worthy matron.
The program included songs
by Mrs. Edwin Andren and piano
numbers by Mrs. Harold Head.
A stunt was given during the
supper hour by the October-November-December
group headed
by Ewin Stone.
The tables were decorated
with spring flowers and cent
ered with large birthday cakes.
Mrs. Bertha Bonney and Mrs.
Howard Jewett arranged the
tables. The refreshment com
mittee was in charge of Mr. and
Mrs. H. T. Pankey, Mrs. Paul
Martin, Mrs. Wallace Freeland
and Mrs. Elmer Kyle.

ron, Mrs. Bonney, included Mrs.
Lulu Saulsbury, grand chaplain

bers were asked to contribute
articles. In charge of the next
