ed what their hobbles are and
what they " do in their spare
time as well as what work ex
perience they have had, an
nounces Anthony J. Sambuck,
representative of the U. S. Em
ployment Service in Portland,
who Is here to confer with the
local office manager, Lewis
Ulrich.
The new system, called estab
lishing potentialities, Is intend
ed to furnish the employment
service with information as to
what line of defense work ap,
plicants might be fitted into re
gardless of the lack of specific
training or experience. Those
making application at the of
fice will be asked the questions
by interviewers and the regis
trants will then be classified at
this time to meet the pressing
need for techniques applicable
in the selection and referral of
applicants for on-the-job or
other training In occupations in
which the available supply of
workers Is not sufficient to meet
the demand. .

Red Cross Women's Volunteer
Motor Corps members are regis
tered in classes of driving, first

work on the requirements which
will fit them for compe.'ent mo
tor corps members.

Advanced driving classes are
held Tuesday at 2 30 and 8 p. m.
at senior high school under di
rection of C. D. French of the
traffic salety department of Ore
Con. First aid is taught Monday
and Wednesday evenings. The
motor mechanics class meets to
night at 8 o'clock at Bill Young's
garage on Front street.
