4230 and it will be picked up.
There is also urgent need for
several mattresses, a three-quarter
bed, spring and mattress, a
woman's coat size 44 or 46 and
any other clothing or canned
fruit or other canned food that
can be spared, Adjutant Cox
stated.
The adjutant said the relief
load of the Salvation Army had
Increased tremendously, the
men's dormitory being filled
practically every night, with as
many as 16 being fed daily at
breakfast. Destitute families,
I seeking work on the canton
ment, are arriving daily, Adju
tant Cox said, citing as a typical
example a family of husband,
wife and four young children
who hitch-hiked here and ar
rived without a solitary cent.
