tournament will open tonight
with roll call pretty much the
same as last year's.
The new entries are Milton
Freewater in district 2, Medford
tn 4, Hillsboro, Mount Angel
(state Catholic champion) and St.
Helens.
Tournament observers favored
Astoria, defending champion,
Baker, North Bend and Salem.
Baker won 25 out of 30 games,
North Bend 18 out of 20.
Salem, the host team, is the first
champion of the No Name
league to win all games in that
circuit
The tournament will open to
night with Vale playing Mount
Angel at 7:30 o'clock, Salem
meeting Corvallls at 8:45.

minutes after it started.
The lone tumble of the
scheduled one-hour main event
occurred when Lopez, a goug
ing, halr-pulllng, groin-punching,
choking and biting villain
of tha first water, took Corbett
in his arms and gave him a
couple of back-breakers over his
knee, then slammed him to the
canvas and applied his should
ers to the mat.
Corbett tried gallantly to re
turn for more action but when
the bell sounded for the next
fall he could hardly stand up.

the match to the 227-pound

Corbett attempted to grapple
cleanly but it availed him not

middle event, Belcastro taking

body scissors. Belcastro, as us
ual, was dirty, but only occas
ionally did the French-Canadian
return him blow for blow.
Jim Casey, a newcomer from
Maryland, made a large hit in
his local debut by whipping
Chief Thunderblrd in the four
round opener. Thunderblrd
wanted to wrestle underhanded
and Casey obliged, finally body-
slamming the Indian to the mat
in the third round for the lone

shining lights at the Medford
Gun club shoot Sunday, with
Porter taking the handicap event
with 24x25 and all the other
making 25 straights or better at
18 yards rise. Jantzer missed
only one target in 123 birds at
10 yards and had a 75 stralght,
Mendenhall had 73 straight and
Crolsant a 50 straight with a

tral Point market road just off
the Crater Lake highway at

on the old grounds have been
moved to the new location with
the exception of the skeet build

as soon as It Is possible to get
them off the field where develop
ment work and wet ground ha
made It Impossible to operate for
