KENFRO WAIVES
Tom W. Renfro of Ashland,
charged with wanton and malic
ious destruction of personal
property, waived preliminary
bearing in Justice court yester
day afternoon, and was ordered
held under $1000 bonds to await
grand jury action. Renfro, while
on an alcoholic rampage, entered
the home of the Rev. Fred M.
Weatherford Monday night and
smashed up things generally. He
was found In the house by the
minister.
The charge against Renfro is
an indictable misdeameanor, sub
ject to trial In circuit court.

24, was sentenced to an indeter
minate term not to exceed two
years in state prison, by Circuit
Judge H. K. Hanna this morning.
The youth plead guilty to theft
: of $350 last Saturday from his
employer, Carl Wiltermood,
operator of the Coffee Pot on
North Riverside avenue. Whlte-
1 chat was on parole from a f ive-
' year sentence for passing spur-
, ious checks.
i Whltechat, when sentence was
passed, weaved and placed his
hands on the table for support
i and wept. His father, a govern-
: ment worker at Mare Island,
j Calif., was in court.
i In passing sentence. Judge
; Hanna said:
I "There is nothing the court
can do but impose a sentence
upon you. You had an oppor
tunity, but failed to use it. Both
the sheriff and the district at
torney tried to help you, and pro-
cured a good Job for you, which
was something unusual. You did
j not realize the seriousness of the
' check charge, and then commit
i ted a greater crime. You vio
lated your parole and a trust.
"I hope In the penitentiary you
will obey the rules, and behave
yourself. That will enable you
to receive credits, lowering your
, sentence. I trust your experl
! ence there will not deter you
j from becoming a good citizen in
j the future," the court concluded.
! Authorities said with "good
! time" Whltechat could be par
roled in slightly less than a year,
j Whitechat was arrested Tuesday
at Redding, Calif. He squandered
; the entire $350 in riotous living,
I and left his suitcase at Redding
: as security for a OS hotel bill.

FRIDEGAR RITES
William Frldegar who passed
away at his home on Stewart
avenue early Thursday morning,
was born at Kirkersville, Ohio,
July 19, 1862.
When he was a small boy the
family moved to Lucas county
where they resided for 20 years,
then moved to Wood county and
from there to Medford, in 1903,
where he has since resided and
during which time he has been
engaged in fruit growing.
Mr. Frldegar has been a life
long member of the Methodist
church and has lived a long hon
orable and upright life. He leaves
his wife, Katherine. Their only
son, Gilbert, passed away In
1933.
Funeral services will be held
in the Conger chapel at 2:30
Monday with Rev. L. F. Belknap,
assisted by Rev. Louis C. Klrby
officiating. Interment will be in
Siskiyou memorial park.
