SALE. POSTOFFICE
Five thousand federal motor
vehicle stamps arrived today
and are now on sale at a special
window In the Medford post
office. The stamps, costing $2.09
each for the period ending next
June 30, must be procured by
February 2, effective date of the
new tax law.
The stamps received here
have glue on them. They may be
affixed to any part of the car
where they may be seen, such
as the instrument panel, and do
not have to be stuck on wind
shields or car windows. Post

any but authorized stickers on
car windshields or windows.
Each stamp purchaser re
ceives a self-addressed postcard
to be sent, after a cent postage
stamp has been put on it, to the
collector of customs at Portland
as evidence that the car tax has
been paid.

Talk Is Cheap, But...
Proof Is sometime another matter. It's easy to
make exaggerated claims, but not so easy to back
them up. That's why Safeway is always so careful
to say exactly what it means in its advertising, to
give information that is accurate and dependable.
When we say ALL Safeway prices are consistently
low EVERY DAY. and that, though we will not cut
prices below cost, but will meet them item by item,
and day by day, if others make such prices, w
mean exactly what w say. Knowing this you can
see why you can depend on saving money at Safe
way whatever day you do your marketing.
