Expect War Relief
Quota by Week-End
Solicitors In the Jackson coun
ty Red Cross war relief drive
to raise $12,000 in the county
expect that the quota will be
raised by the end of the week,
B. E. Harder, chairman of the
drive announced yesterday. He
said that the solicitors are being
well received throughout the
county.
Mr. Harder also stated that
the war relief headquartei s is
being moved from the Chamber
of Commerce to the county
courthouse in the Red Cross
office. Those who have not been
contacted for contributions to
the war relief drive may leave
their donations at the county
courthouse, at the Chamber of
Commerce or the two banks.
29 years, passed away Decem
ber 14, in Salem, Ore., as a re
sult of a stomach cancer, it was
reported today by his sister,
Mrs. Linnie Connelly, of Route
1, Gold Hill.

Plans are being made by the
Medford Production Credit as
sociation for the eighth annual
meeting, Monday and Tuesday,
January 26 and 27 according to
Bren H. Starcher, secretary
treasurer. The January 20 meet
ing will be at the courthouse au
ditorium in Medford for Jack
son and Josephine county mem
bers and January 27 the program
members of Douglas, Coos and
will be repeated in Roseburg for
Curry counties.
Main speaker will be A. B.
Robertson, vice president of the
Production Credit corporation,
Spokane. The program will in
clude financial reports by Mr.
Starcher and election of two di
rectors to replace Clarence Zum-
walt of Sixes and Jesse Clinton,
Myrtle Point, whose terms have
exipred.
The meeting In Medford will
open at 10 o'clock in the morn
ing and continue throughout the
day.
