Gold Hill grange met '.n regu
lar session December 18 and
Master Howes obligated Jimmie
Cummlngs in third and fourth
degrees. As the newly-elected
assistant steward, bam Jones,
had Joined the service, Jimmie
Cummines was elected his suc
cessor in readiness for installa
tion at Central Point December
28.
Plans were started for the
grange New Year's turkey din
ner to be held January 4 at
noon.
A bridal shower was held for
the newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs
James Cummlngs and they re
ceived many useful gifts. Birth
days In the last quarter were
also celebrated. . Tables were
beautifully decorated in the
Christmas motif. Hostesses were
Mrs. Fanny Long and Mrs. Eva
Wigle, assisted by Florence
Howes.
Grange held Its Christmas tree
party December 19 under direc
tion of Dorothy McGuire. Den-
nis McGuire and Jesse Fish led
the group in singing. Irene
Johnson showed two tableaus,
and there were games, exchange
of gifts, treats and square danc
ing. Music was provided by
Dorothy McGuire and Jans?
Marsden at the piano and Mr.
Perry, violin.

A social evening and old
fashioned watch party will be
held December 31, New Year's
eve, at Sams Valley grange for
members, their famlliet and in
vited guests. There will be no
charge but ladies attending are
asked to bring sandwiches or
cake for the supper.
