CAVES CCC CAMP

BOYS GO TO BLY
The OreRon Caves CCC camp
will be disbanded November 22,
it was announced today by head
quarters of Crater Lake national
park under whose Jurisdiction
it tins been administered.
The enrollees remaining at
the camp will be transferred to
Camp Bly, a camp administered
by the U. S. forest service at
Bly.
Thomas C. Parker, assistant
uperintendent of Crater Lake
national park, and George T.
Hopper, resident engineer, went
to Oregon Caves this morning
to close the camp out.
The company occupying the
Oregon Caves camp has divided
its work between seasons, the
outfit being stationed at Oregon
Caves national monument in
winter and at Crater lake In
summer. The company has done
considerable construction work
at both places. The disbandment
will leave Crater Lake national
park with only ono CCC com
pany, the one at the Lava Hods
national monument.

"I cannot believe our govern
ment will let the backbone of

down in this crisis," he said.
"I am convinced that within
90 to 120 days these shortages
in raw materials, mostly metals,
will begin to disappear and we
will be on the way to solving
one problem of the emergency."
The current freight volume

First Heavy Storm

Winter's first heavy storm
left blanket of snow up to
two feet deep over Utah, south
ern Idaho, western Wyoming
and eastern Nevada Tuesday.
Although a blizzard swept
over many areas, main high
ways were kept open by snow
plows. In the Wasatch mountains
east of Salt Lake City, scene
of an army bomber crash that
cost two lives early yesterday,
the snow measured up to two
feet.
There were enough orange
trees In California and Florida
alone to equal one tree for each.

' A local rail line having been abandoned, the company leased a car to the Warehouse
Point Railfan's Club for an indefinite period, with the stipulation that it should revert back
to the company if the club should ever cease operation. Power for the line will be furnished
by a gasoline generator. The club, known as the Connecticut Eltctric Railway Association,
is incorporated in the state of Connecticut. Passengers will be carried for a small sum.
