giving ad. in 1938. It seem so appropriate
that we print it again:
(f we American ever hid mum to b thankful for th great
privilege of living under the Stare and Stripe we ihould
be doubly thankful thit 1941. Aa we gather with our loved
onet about the Thanksgiving Feast let at remember that fust
out beyond our range of vision it misery and want. That radio
which in our own United States serves only to entertain and
instruct. It In other lands used to build hatred. Vicious propa
ganda has poisoned the minds of people until unfortunate min
orities have teen their homes destroyed, their property confis
cated, their loved onet murdered or exiled, their families scat
tered penniless never to meet again.
Just out of hearing, crashing bombs showered by insane war
lords on defenseless women and children are towing death and
destruction.
Beside all of this our little troubles seem as naught. Our
homes are sacred; our lives are safe; the family as a unit is
not endangered. Here if anywhere one can love his neighbor
as himself.
A visiting foreigner recently said: America is truly God's
chosen country. That is a dangerous belief. Rather should we
remember that America is America because America has
chosen God.
