program the group of 21 mem
bers, all under 10 years of age,
were photographed.
Home On Leave Boyd Mil
ler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan
Miller of 1025 West 10th street,
is home or. a nine-day leave
from the U. S. naval training
station at San Diego, Cal., after
completion of six weeks of re
cruit training. After returning
to San Diego next Saturday,
Miller will be transferred to the
navy aviation machinist school
at Seattle for 25 weeks of study
in aviation mechanics. Miller
enlisted In the naval reserve
at the local recruiting office
July 29.

Shack Burns A shack north
of town near the Southern Pa
cific railroad tracks burned to
the ground about 3:25 this
morning. The fire department
was called but did not respond
as the blaze was outside the
city. Edward Canoose. assistant
chief, however, went to the
ccene himself to see that no city
property was endangered. Fire
men said the shack was occu
pied by transients.

Frank Levy Minkler, 55,
charged with driving an auto
while under the Influence of in
toxicating liquor, entered a plea
of guilty and was sentenced to
30 days in the county Jail, fined
$100 and costs, and his liquor
and driving licenses were sus
pended for a year. Upon pay
ment of the fine and costs the
Jail sentence was suspended by
Justice of the Peace W. R. Cole
man. Others sentenced yesterday

noons. It was disclosed today by
Max Barbour of Klamath Falls,
who is staging the show for the
Medford Athletic association.
Barbour, who arrived here
this morning from the Pendle
ton roundup, where most of his
stock participated, said that
some of the best cowboys in the
business would be on hand to
compete for approximately
$1600 in cash prizes, $800 to be
awarded at each performance.
