Death has Interrupted the
farewell crulM of tha 48-foot
schooner-rigged yacht Orabelle.

The little boat was towed Into
Newport harbor yesterday, two
days after the Hoydens set sail
tor Crescent City, with tht body
of Mrs. Boyden aboard.
; Royden, 71, and crippled with
arthritis, to'd crew members of

sponded to his distress signals
off Catalina island yesterday
that Mrs. Royden, 98, had
drowned the day before.
Royden said he had gona be
low for a nap when ha heard
his wife scream. By the time
ha reached the deck she was In
the water 300 yards astern. He
Jumped in after her. Finding
his efforts to reacn her were
fruitless, he returned to the
yacht and brought It ' about,
but when he came up with his
wife she had drowned.
The Rovdens had been mar
fled 33 years. They sailed the
Orabelle here from Crescent
City last year and had planned
to return there to sell her and
retire from the sea.
