Home Economics club of Cen
tral Point Grange will meet
Wednesday afternoon, Auguat
17, at the home of Mrs. Charity
Sanders. Mrs. Clara Vincent has
charge of the program.
Talent Orange
Talent Grange met August 21,
with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gish
present as visitors from the
Central Point Grange.
Mrs. L. G. Gentner gave an
Interesting aiavi Instructive talk
on flowers. Her talk centered
on the perennials which bloom
at this time of year. Mrs. Gent
ner had various species with her
and told the Interesting features
of each one as she went along.
As she finished discussing each
flower it was given to someono
present so that by the time she
had finished her talk everyone
present had flowers. Both large '
and miniature dahlias were

points given on how to select
itahllas for show purposes. Mrs.
Gentner also displayed a few
varieties of heather and stated
that It is becoming more popu
lar with flower lovers here In
the valley. In was stressed that
everyone should learn the names
of the flowers In their garden.
Following the talk on flowers,
Mr. Gentner spoke on pests and
how to control them.
Mr. and Mrs. Gentner Judged
the Grangers' flower show with
the first prize for arrangement
going to Mrs. W. W. Roblson,
while second and third went to
Mrs. Alvla Smith and Mrs. Geo.
Hartley. First prizes were given
to Mrs. Dora Smith on gladtolas,
Mrs. W, W. Robison on snap
dragons and Mrs. Geo. Hartley
for asters. Vases were given as
prizes.
H. E. C. asks that each mem
ber bring some wrapped article
to be used in a "white elephant"
sale at next meeting. H. E. C.
is furnishing the refreshments
for the evening.

Table Rock Livestock club
had party August 12 at the
home of the leader, Mrs. Frank
Myers. During the short bus!
nesg meeting It was voted that
the money in the treasury would
be used in buying sheep block
ing equipment.
Twelve 4-H members, 10 visi
tors and four leaders were
present.
Two surprise showers were
given, a handkerchief shower
on Mrs. O. C. Hamilton and
kitchen shower on Mr. and Mrs.
Ivan Myers.
Refreshments were served.
Table Rock Cooking club held
an afternoon tea August 13. The
program included reading by
Marjorle Hunsley and a song by
Marjorie Howsley, Doris Hum-
ley, Mildred Clark and Luclie
Smith. .
Refreshments were) served by
the second division girls.

Beagle Put'er Uppers Canning
club held a meeting at the home
of Cleo Bishoff August IS. All
officers and six members were
present Mrs. Martin had us give
demonstrations on canning dif
ferent kinds of fruits. Refresh
ments were served and games
enjoyed.
Another meeting was held st
the home of Thelma Martin,
leader, August 18. All members
and 10 visitors were present.
Wa finished our record books
and turned them In to Mrs
Martin. She also collected our
exhibits for the fair. After the
meeting, refreshments and games
were enjoyed.

For four hours last night then
4,000 prisoners listened to news
of the world, comedy dramas
and musical programs selected
by a committee of SO Inmates
and approved by the warden.
The radio system, an $8,000
Job, was paid for entirely out ot
the prisoners' own library fund.
For their opening program laai

all-girl orchestra.
