Perfect Housewife Type
THE door dosed. The three
guests were gone. Henry and
Luella were alone.
A perfect evening!" laid Hen
ry. "You were swell, honey. And
what a grand dinner."
"I'm glad you liked It," aald
Luella a bit itiffly.
Henry looked at her. "Any
thing wrong, Luella?" he asked.
Luella shook her head, and
glanced about the room.
"1 hope," aaid Henry, "you
don't mind my not mentioning
ike lunch with Mane."
Nn Hmrv." Luella hesitated
a moment. "Only well, it s just
that I don't want you to (eel that

Henry cried. "I never thought of

Marie, I mean. 1 ran into her on
the street, and that's the way it

ON A Saturday afternoon two
weeks after the Pell dinner

wanted to go up there sometime."
"I'd love to. Tommy," Luella

"But without the moonlight
said Tommy.
"The sunlight does very nicely,
though." said Luella. "But I bet
it's lovely when the moon if
shining."
"It is. We'll drive up and see It
some night this summer, if you'd
like."
"I would."
And then they were In The
Cloisters.

commenting upon them. They sat
for a moment before an altar in

PRESENTLY they went out Into
the sun-light. The Bronx lay
at their feet automobiles whizzed
by far below, horns honked, and
several planes circled around
above them.
And now." said Tommy, "let I
hie ourselves up the river for
some food. Hungry?"
"Yes, said Luella, "i am. ine
drive and this wonderful air has
given me a terrific appetite."
"Goodl" said Tommy, as they
got into his roadster. "I like going
out with people who have appe
tites.
I'm going to leave everything
to you. said Luella. "It'll be nice
not having to plan a meal- or

Then I shall do myself proud,
Tommy said. "I Imagine you do
get a little tired, now and then

have for dinner, or lunch, oi

"I do. although I am the house
keeping type.
Tommy gave Luella a quick
look, and then speeded up tht
car.
They found a roadhouse aeveral

was open all year around, and
Tommy drove into the curving
road which led to the wide, rustic

"This looks like a nice place."
he said.
Yes," said Luella. "I like It

Fatalities Drop

the first six months of 1941,
traffic fatalities in Oregon were
reduced 4.3 percent under the
total for the same period last
year, while pedestrian fatalities
have dropped 47 percent.
