this noon. Miss Smith went to
Lake O' Woods this morning to
make a routine auditing inspec
tion. Weather at the lake today
was perfect, she said. She
planned to return via the Dead
Indian road.

FOREST PERMITS

From today until September
30 national forest fire "rules and
regulations will be in effect,
Rogue River national forest
headquarters emphasized In a
statement today.
Permits are now required for
camp fires excepting in im
proved campgrounds such as Mc
Kee Bridge, Union Creek, Lake
O' Woods and South Fork, head
quarters pointed out. All im
proved campgrounds are posted
with notices stating that no per
mit is required. If a campground
is not so posted, a permit is re
quired, headquarters stressed.
Permits may be procured at any
supervisor's office or any ranger
or guard station.
Forest campers are required
to be equipped with a shovel, ax
and water pail of specified mini
mum dimensions. Smoking Is
prohibited while one is in transit
excepting while traveling over
two-way paved or surfaced
roads.
