At the conclusion of the cere
mony the officers presented a
bouquet of white carnations to
their newly installed queen, a
number of friends were present
to witness the ceremony. Mrs.
Esther Sanderson was presented
with a gift as a token of the ap
preciation of Bethel No. 14 for
her work as council guardian
for the past three years, by the
honored queen.
An Interesting feature of the
evening was announcement that
a telegram of congratulations
and good wishes had been re
ceived by the honored queen
from Patricia Dippel, retiring
queen, as present visiting rela
tives in Nebraska.
Punch and cakes were served
with Jerrilee Lovejoy and Joyce
Viz presiding at the punch bowl
with the assistance of Carmen
Wright, Jeraldyn Jerome and
Mrs. Frank Ray of the guardian
council.

was posted today for tire buyers
all over the nation, gasoline
users in the east, and electricity
consumers in the southeast.
To meet the demands of re
armament, stock piles of rubber
must be built up with imports
largely from the East Indies, so
defense officials ordered a re
duction henceforth in the
amount of rubber available for
civilian consumption.

will attend the 90th annual state
convention of the Churches of
Christ in Oregon to be held in
Turner, Ore., June 24 to 29.
Mrs. Gregory is district preni
dent of the women's missionary
societies for southern Oregon
and will attend their state board
meeting Tuesday.
Dr. Victor P. Morris, dean of
the School of Business Adminis
tration at the University of Ore
gon will be convention guest
speaker and a number of mis
sionaries from foreign fields will
also participate.
