his wife, roles they made famous
In the first two hits, with Top
per again manifesting his some
times embarrassing fascination
for ghosts, and the lovely, shape
ly spirit which haunts him this
time is Joan Blondell.
Almost all the action occurs
In an old, eerie mansion fitted
with sliding panels, chairs that
do nip-ups, depositing the occu
pant Into dungeons, trap doors,
secret passages between the
walls and what not. What with
all the weird knick-knacks and
do-dads of the mansion, some
extra lively spooks dashing
hither and yon, topped by the
delightful presence now and
then at the most unexpected
times of the loveliest ghost of
them all. Topper has one of the
most extraordinary adventures
that ever fell to the lot of one
man.

theatre Wednesday for a four-
day showing. Starring Tyronne
Power, with Linda Darnell and
Rita Hayworth in the two lead
ing feminine , roles and Nazi
mova, Anthony Quinn, J. Car
roll Naish, John Carradinc,
Lynn Bari, Laird Cregar and
Vicente Gomez featured In the
supporting cast, the exciting
drama of a fearless matador
whose rise to fame almost leads
to his destruction is one of the
outstanding screen hits of the
year.
GIRLS DAY CAMP
Despite a rainy Friday attend
ance at the Day camp for Girl
Scouts and other girls In the
community between the ages of
10 and 18 reached a total of 40.
Opening day for the older girls
on Thursday saw an attendance
of 78.
Activities Included panto
mimes by each troop, Afghan
square weaving, first aid instruc
tion, under the direction of
George Heryford, and outdoor
cookery.

The Rialto theatre chooses for
its mid-week "Rialto Re-Issue
Days" showing starting a three-
day run Tuesday "Steamboat
'Round the Bend," starring the'
immortal Will Rogers. The
greatest star the motion picture
world has ever known, Will
Rogers' last picture returns to
the popular Main street theatre
after countless requests for its
return showing. Irvin S. Cobb
heads the supporting cast as a
rival Mississippi steamboat cap
tain who tries to do Rogers out
of his franchise to haul goods
up the mighty river in his old
tub.
Ever since Clark Gable and
Hedy Lamarr romanced and
, separated in "Boom Town," the
public has been clamoring for
the two to be co-starred once
again. The demand is answered
and in a hilarious manner
with the appearance of the two
stars in "Comrade X," the fast
action story of an American
correspondent in Russia who
falls in lova with one of the
female comrades who drives a
street car. The comedy opens
a three-day run today at tne
Roxy theatre with Felix Bres
sart and Oscar Homolka in sup
porting roles. One of the high
lights of the film is said to be
Gable's escape from the country
in the commanding position of
a barrage of motored tanks,
which he leads over hill and
dale and even under a river in
his flee to bordering Rumania.
"Calling All Husbands," a
delightful comedy of married
life starring Ernest Truex, plays
as the companion feature with
"Comrade X."

Professor Jerry Colonna not

Llnfield Finances Good
McMinnville, June 7 (IP)
The Llnfield college board of
trustees declared the school in
its strongest financial position
in years and voted 3 per cent
bonus to faculty members.
Sponsored by the Retail Cred
it association of Medford, a one
year advertising; campaign will
be launched in The Mail Tribune
Monday designed to educate the
public on the value of prompt
payment of their obligations.
The slogan of the campaign is,:
"The credit of a community re
flects the thriftincss of her cit
izens ... a city with good credit
is a good place in which to
live."
Throwing its extensive facil
ities wide open to the Retail
Credit association of Medford in
the campaign will be the South
ern Oregon Credit bureau, af
filiated with the Associated
Credit Bureaus of America.
The Retail Credit Association
of Medford, a unit of the Na
tional Retail Credit association,
is headed by D. T. Flynn, pres
ident. W. E. Thomas is vice
president and Wilfred M. Moses
is secretary-treasurer.
The two organizations will
work in close harmony during
the campaign. The Southern
Oregon Credit Bureau, accord
ing to Mr. Moses, who Is vice-
president of the bureau, is now
making an average of 1,300
credit reports a month, and has
about 90,000 cards now on file,
30,000 of which are "live" cards
representing everybody in Jack
son county.
Mr. Moses explained that a
complete credit record was kept
by the bureau on everybody in
the county, this information be
ing available to all credit grant-

of the bureau, Mr. Moses stated,
was to build up complete
credit record of everybody la
the county. He said that th
bureau had salvaged approxi
mately $2,000,000 for Its mem
oirs since ltfiv.
All members of the Retail
Credit Association of Medford
are members of the Southern
Oregon Credit Bureau, thereby
having at their disposal the com
plete records of the latter
agency.
The campaign will take thai
form of weekly advertisement
in The Mail Tribune calling th
public's attention to the vast
benefits persons will receive by
paying their obligations prompt
ly and building up their credit
rating.
