Vacation church ichool of the
First Christian church will open
Monday at 9 a. m., with classes
and activities for boys and girls
from three to 15 years.
Older girls will help make
bandages and surgical dressings
for China relief; the boys will
make recreation and play equip
ment. A playground la being
equipped across the alley from
the church for school and for
church activities during the sum
mer.
There will be four groups In
the school. Pre-school children
will be directed by Mrs. R. W.
Coleman, Mrs. George Stevens
and Mrs. Herbert Sims; the pri
maries will be guided by Mrs.
Roy McConnell and Mrs. Claude
Cooper; junior group will have
Mrs. A. H. Gregory and Mrs.
Claude Cooper for leaders, and
intermediates will be guided by
Mrs. Charles Smith and Mrs.
Thale Ford.

A dally vacation Bible school
for children aged 4 to 16 will
be held In the Salvation Army
hall beginning Monday at 9:30
a. m. and continuing for one
week.
Mrs. Captain Charles K. Cox
will be director of the achool
with the Sunday achool teachers
assisting. Captain Cox will pre
sent illustrated sermons espe
cially for different ages.
The theme of the school will
be "Spiritual Defense" and the
main purposes will be: 1. To
develop Christian personality;
2. To utilize vacation days in a
wholesome program.
The course of study will In
clude devotional periods, Bible
study, scripture verse memoriz
ing, crafts, and recreation.
Certificates will be awarded
to all reaching the required
standards. The school will end
with a picnic Saturday, June 7.
Other young people as well as
those attending the Salvation
Army Sunday school are invited
to attend.

During June, July and August
Sunday school will begin at
9 a. m. and church services at
10 a. m.
"This is a Sunday daylight
saving feature which will enable
the congregation and friends of
the congregation to participate
in worship and still have plenty
of time left for wholesome re
laxation In God's great out of
doors," the pastor. Rev. Werner
Jessen, said in announcing the
change.
The annual daily vacation
Bible school conducted by the
congregation will begin Monday
at 9 a. m. and will be conducted
daily except Saturday from 9
. m. to 11:30 a. m. for two
weeks. There will be classes for
all youngsters from 4 years old
through Junior high school.
