Convalescing Everett Bray
ton of 314 Vancouver avenue,
who underwent an appendec
tomy several days ago, has re
turned to his home from Sacred
Heart hospital and was reported
convalescing nicely today. He
is able to see friends.
To Exposition Mayor and
Mrs. C. C. Furnas left by motor
car this morning for San Fran
cisco. They planned to take in
the Golden Gate International
exposition during their sojourn
in the bay region. It was their
intention to return home next
Monday or Tuesday.

Pennington. 59. of Butte Falls
was cited by state police yester
day to appear in justice of the
peace court September 21, charg
ed with possession of untagged
deer hides in closed season. Roy
G. Pursel, 20, of Eagle Point
was cited to appear Thursday
charged with driving a vehicle
that had only one headlight.
Francis Returns L. E- Fran
cis, Jackson county 4-H club
agent, returned early this morn
ing from Corvallis whither he
went yesterday to enter a hos
pital for a physical check-up
and an operation. It was de
termined, however, to defer the
operation and Mr. Francis re
turned immediately so that he
might handle the preparations
for the annual 4-H club live
stock show here. He will go
back to the hospital in Corvallis
after the show.

ADDRESSES MEET
OF 20-30 CLUB
The responsibility of sponsor
ing groups of Boy Scout troops
was the subject of a speech at
the 20-30 club meeting last night
by Kenneth A. Wells. Boy Scout
executive for the Crater Lake
Area Council. The weekly din
ner meeting of the club was held
in Hotel Jackson.
In addition to his talk. Mr.
Wells presented three reels of
motion pictures he took on the
trip of Oregon Scouts to the last

national Boy Scout Jamboree in
Washington. D. C, and to the
international Jamboree in Hol
land two years ago.
The movies covered the com
plete trip from Oregon to Wash
ington. D. C. thence to England,
Holland, Germany, Switzerland,
France and the return to the
United States through Canada.
Scenes shown included those
of the large encampments of
Boy Scouts at Washington, D. C,
and in Holland and of the facili
ties offered the boys, and field
demonstrations staged by Scouts
from the various countries.
A guest of the club was Dave
Griffiths. President Jack Hart,
ley presided.'
