tidered the most enthusiastic Re
publican gathering held here In
years.
Mr- Cake dwelled upon the
party's national convention
theme that if democratic pro
cesses are to be preserved, the
country must have a change in

Albert L. Burton, 50. Itinerant
who was quoted by city police
as admitting he was a "four time
loser," was bound over to the
grand Jury under $1,000 bail
when he waived preliminary
hearing In justice of the peace
court this' morning on a charge
of larceny from a dwelling.

clothing from G. J. Maxwell's
residence, S04 Pennsylvania ave
nue, on September 18, and from
the home of D. T. Lawton, 321

Most of the wearing apparel was
recovered, including a $33 pair
of glasses in a pocket of a pair
of trousers owned by Mr- Maxwell.
Police said Burton admitted
being jailed for larceny in New

The rise was fractional among
most leaders and volume was
limited but observers noted that
the majority of transactions oc
curred on the rise and that
selling periods drew little ac
tion. About 450,000 shares
changed hands.

operations during the day had
shown the path of least resist
