IN SCOUT AREA
Appointment of J. A. Me
Dougill ai Scout commiuloncr
for district one of Medford
marked the monthly meeting of
the Medford district Scout com
mittee last night at the Boy
Scout office. McDougall will
take over general supervision of
all Scout and Cub units in Med
ford south of Main street and
including Jacksonville and
Phoenix.
According to Seth M. Bullis
district chairman, the Medford
district which consists of sixteen
Scout and Cub units will, for
administrative purposes, be di
divided into three districts, each
supervised by a volunteer com
missioner. In addition to Mc
Dougall, Paul Peterson will sup
ervise scouting activities out
side of Medford in Gold Hill
Rogue River, Central Point, and
Trail. A third commissioner, yet
to be selected, will serve all of
Medford north of Main street.
The camping program at
Camp McLoughlin was the sub
ject of report by Dale Smith,
camping chairman for the dis
trict He reported that the camp
showed an increase over 1939 of
one hundred and twenty-nine
percent in camper weeks and
an increase of ninety-five per
cent in different boys in camp.
"This was our largest camping
season in the 12 years of the
camp," said Smith.
Plans were laid for a training
course for volunteer Scout lead
ers and for a district Scout rally
to be held in October.

points despite comparatively
heavy profit selling.
Dealings, amounting to some
1,300,000 shares, were the fast
est since mid-June.

patches, that John Bull would
succeed in beating off attacking
nazis. A long conflict, it was
added, with a probable British
