JUSTICE PAROLES
THEY SET FIRES
Wallace E. Regan and Thomas
O. Mulhollen. Medford boys both
15 years old. were paroled to
their parents after a hearing on
charges of incendiarism before
Judge J. B. Coleman in juvenile
court this morning.
According to admissions the
police said the boys made, Wal
lace and Thomas set three grass
brush fires on Roxy Ann moun
tain by throwing matches and a
cigarette out of a car as they
drove along the Prescott park
road. Several other boys in the
car remonstrated with Wallace
and Thomas, police said, and no
court action was taken against
them, though they failed to no
tify authorities of the fires.
The fires, set August 22, burn
ed 61 acres. One was just above
the Prescott CCC camp and the
other two were on the opposite
side of the road. They were put
out by state forest crews.
Judge Coleman emphasized
the danger of their acts, point
ing out that the fires might have
destroyed houses, the Prescott
CCC camD buildincs and pvn
lives. I
Paroling the boys was recom
mended by Dolph Phipps. slate
district fire warden, and Police
Chief Clatous McCredie. The
state was represented at the
hearing by George W. Neilson,
deputy district attorney.
Judge Coleman late yesterday
afternoon continued the case of
James H. Brinson. 14, for a
week. The boy was accused of
molesting six women during the
past two weeks.
