sons attended the highly success
ful second annual pioneer picnic
in Eagle Point park Sunday,
Aug. 25.
Following a bountiful dinner the
afternoon program was opened with
group singing of the Star Spangled
Banner led by Mrs. Clsy and Invoca
tion by Rcr. Millard. Old time fiddle
tunea rendered by Frank Simpson
and Oeorge Pursell were especially
enjoyed. Other numbera on tha pro
gram were: Songs by Bill Holman; a
reading by Mrs. Clsy; a duet by Ree.
and Mrs. Mtllerd, and all were re
ceived with enthuslssm. The oldest
married couple present were Mr. and
Mrs. Jack Heuston of Eagle Point,
who have been married M yeara.
They were presented with a lovely
framed picture. Mre. Laura King of
Phoenix waa the oldest person pres
ent, aged 87. Mrs. King came to
Sawyers Bar, California vis Cape
Horn In lm. at an early age. later
moving to the Little Butte creek area.
She received a basket of beautiful
