False Alarm A ward alarm
was sounded at ft:44 Frldry
night when the fire department
was notified that the Howard
Miller residence at 723 Vet
Jackson boulevard was on fire.

Papers were being burned in

Albert L. Gall, native son of
Jackson county, born In Sams
Valley 76 years ago and spent
hit entire life In the Rogue
River valley, passed away in
local hospital Friday evening,
following a lingering illness of
several months.
He was born November B,
1863, ton of pioneer parents.
Judge C. C. and Sarah Pankey
Gall. He was married August 1.
189S, to Martha O'Nell van Har
denberg, who survives.
Residing in Medford for tha
last 22 years, hit late residence

Besides his wife, he leaves

told of the accident and serious
injury of Lieut. Donald C. Boyd,
former Medford resident and
ton of C. R. Boyd, who It stay

Lieut. Boyd, with the regular
army stationed at Vancouver,
Wash, was participating In army
maneuvers at Fort Lewis last
Tuesday when the car In which
he was riding overturned near
Chehallt. Th driver waa killed
and young Boyd suffered serious
injuries. He it confined in
hospital in Centralia, Wash. Ex

father said.
Lieut. Boyd lived In Medford
snd attended local schools. He
graduated from University of
Oregon where he was a member
