Fifth Column, Eta.
To the editor:
There is much debate as to
whether America could be In
vaded by the totalitarian pow
ers. But America, from here to
Cape Horn Is already invaded
and has been for years, by their
Fifth Columns. And they have
oeen given very free hand.
One of F.D.R.'s first official acts
was to welcome Russia's Fifth
Column to our midst. Now those
Fifth Columns are pretty thor
oughly entrenched in every
country on the western hem is
phere, poisonmg our loyslty and
patriotism, getting young men
pledged to not participate in war
or be "cannon fodder" for any
body. So that now it seems practi
cally impossible for us to secure
a volunteer army or navy. And
N.B. these are not Civil War
days nor World War days. The
draft now will sweep into our
army and navy many thousands
of Fifth Columnists glad of the
opportunity it will afford them
to scuttle a battleship, blow up
a fort, or order a retreat at some
critical moment.

WISE TURKEY. We wonder
how many Fifth Columnists are
working in our munition plants,
shipyards and airplane fae
tones? Maybe Ickes, Hopkins,
Perkins, Lewis or Bridges, could
tell.
Hitler has won practically sit
of his victories by Fifth Column
work (that is through spies or
traitors). Churchill thwarts that
game in England. So Hitler
warns England to oust Church
ill, and put some English Petain
in his place, then England can
get nice easy peace terms Ilka
France got. It is just as simple
as that. But only Hitler knows
the full, grinding, perpetual
price that France must yet pay
America Is getting ample warn
ing. Again: If this country goes in
to a war under this "leftist" ad
ministration, all of those dicta
torial measures that the Su
preme Court outlawed, before)
that Court was denatured, will
doubtless be revived as "emer
gency measures", and the "blue
eagle" or maybe this time a vul
ture, will flap his wings and
crack down" on Ford, and all
big business, and so cripple It
that the government will be
COMPELLED (?) to take it over
to save it.
So what? GIVE US WILLKIE
AND McNARY.
