Concert Friday
The horn of Dr. and Mrs.
C. W. Lemery on South Wind
sor avenue will be the scene
of a mid-summer concert when
the Medford Musical society
presents Bernhard A b r a m o
witsch, noted pianist, Friday
evening.
The program is being espe
cially anticipated by valley mu
sic lovers, not only because of
the artist's reputation as a fine
musician out because It will be
presented out-of-doors on the
Lemery terrace.
Alexander Fried recently
wrote the following review of
Bernhard Abramowitsch: "Ab
ramowitsch. in B e e t h oven's
third concerto, proved an artist
of mature skill and personality.
His performances are expressive
as well as clean."
Hal Garrott published this
about Abramowitsch: "The
pianist uses his masterly tech
nic solely to express the com
poser's ideas. He makes no
display of prowess to dazzle en
audience, nor does he inject his
personality Into the music. His
touch is incisive, firm, and his
style of plavlrg possesses a
clarity that is exceedingly ef
fective in Mozart."
Afred Frankenstein lauded
the pianist in the following man
ner after a recent concert: "Un
der Abramowitsch's fingers the
music had Chopinesque poetry,
the vividness and dra.na of Bee
thoven, the profundity of Bach
but above all the rapturous i
songfulness and romanticism i
that is the property of Sciiu-I

composers.
