O The automobile manufacturers will be called upon to bear a large
part of the government's emergency program.
Already it has been indicated there will be no new models in 1942
because of the necessity of devoting all possible tool making fa
cilities to the manufacture of arms and munitions.
At least one manufacturer is now reported as refusing to give
dealers any confirmation on wholesale prices for cars to be deliv
ered beyond a thirty-day period. There is every indication of a rad
ical reduction in the number of cars to be manufactured. Many
expect almost immediate increases in prices.
Medford dealers have ample stocks today all at the Low Prices
which have prevailed for many months. Conditions are changing
rapidly.
Present stocks will remain at present prices. Those who are giving
consideration to the purchase of a new car should consider the
above market indications carefully. It is our belief immediate
action is advisable.
