LOCAL TALENT URGED
TO ATTEND TRYOUTS
FOR FESTIVAL CASTS
William David Cottrell. re
cently appointed director of the
Shakespearean Festival associa
tion, announced today that try
outa for plays will be held June
3, 4 and S at the Southern
Oregon College of Education in
Ashland.
Mr. Cottrell said that more
local talent will be used in casts
this year than ever before and
he it particularly anxious that
all persons interested, whether
or not they have had previous
experience in acting, try out.
'There is excellent material
right here In southern Oregon
and all will be given a chance,"
the director stated.
Besides actors, persons are
needed to do costume and ward
robe work, technical work,
acene designs and other forms
of stage properties. Air. Cottrell
pointed out that 65 persons
were used last year and more
than that would be needed this
year. He will be aided in choos
ing casts by Mrs. Lois Bow
mer. Festival art director.

Tolischus, now In Sweden, Is

1 cup sliced muehrooma
5 egga. beaten
1. S cup cream
1 S teaspoon salt
t-e teaapoon paprika
H teaspoon celer ysalt
1 teaspoon chopped parsley
Brown onlona and mushrooms tn
butter, heated tn a frying pan. Beat
eggs, cream and seasonings. Pour
Into mushroom: cook slowly and
stir eonatantly until thick. Lightly
toes onto a heated platter. Surround
with toast. Oarnlsh with eresa or
parsley and eerve Immediately.
Stlrky Orange Rolls
1 cup light brown sugar
1 cup water
18 cup orange Juice
! teaapoon grated orange rind
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
3 teaspoons lemon )ulca
Mix the ingredients and simmer
fire minutes. Pour Into a shallow
pan. Cover with the rolls.
Bolls
2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
13 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons fat
a s cup milk
5 tablespoons butter, melted
H cup ralilns
Mix flour, baking powder and aait.
Cut In fat with a knife. Add milk
slowly. When a soft dough forms,
pat It out until one-thlrd Inch thick.
Spread with butter and raisins. Roll
up and cut off one Inch slices.
Arrange, cut aldea, down In the
syrup. Bake 35 mlnutea In a mod
erate oven. Serve warm with more
butter. Tou had better use forks
when serving as these are very
sticky.

Italian government channels
today.

said.

boat, was found drifting on the
Pacific six miles offshore from
Trinidad, Cal.. today. He was
uninjured. The motor of his
boat had failed.
