Wall St. Report
New York, Jan. 11. JF
Stock leaders wilted in today's
market after early buying in
low-priced issues and specialties
failed to spread to other
groups. Losses ran to 3 or more
points for many erstwhile fav
orites in the final hour. Late
efforts at a comeback were
feeble and prices closed at or
near the bottoms.
Brokers, hunting reasons for
the reaction, inclined to place
the principal blame on a reviv
al of tax fears. Transfers were
around 800,000 shares.
