Williams Creek, Dec. 11.
(Spl.) The neighborhood was
shocked when E. P. Raney com
mitted suicide Nov. 26 by shoot
ing himself In the head with a
rifle. He is survived by his wife,
two daughters and four grand
children, all of Alhambra, Calif.
Interment was in Grants Pass
cemetery, December 2. His wife,
a daughter and her husband,
came and remained a week
settling up affairs and leasing
the farm. Jess Spicer and fam
ily are now living on the place.
Mr. and Mrs. Homer Turner moved
to Grants Pass Saturday, having sold
their lease to Pat Maloney and a
partner. The boys moved In Bun
day. Tuesday when they came In at
noon for lunch they found their
cabin and contents in ashes. They
had left a fire In the stove to keep
their lunch warm. Loss was esti
mated around 1200.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bennett and
his mothor, Mrs. Mabel Bennett,
visited at the O. W. Roberts home
recently.
